My practice captures memories of plants through drawing and preservation in clay. The drawings are inexact representations of plants that are extinct in the wild. These extinctions have been helped along by humans, through deforestation and other damaging human interventions. My work remembers the plants in a more sentimental, archival way. I also use the material of clay as I can see the progression of the work into a static state and a permanent memorial of a leaf.
