Theme

My favourite way of thinking in Architecture is how and why things are put together. With every piece of information acquired, it will stockpile into my head so it can be distributed to future projects. When tackling each project, I like to take some time to assess every requirement possible so it can be fulfilled and efficient. With all this in mind, I would love to broaden my horizon when it comes to the client. In this context, I’m referring to the residential side of Architecture. Both understanding housing designs and various client needs, provides the foundation (pun intended) for a more prosperous Architectural career.

My final project for my undergraduate was based in Milan, Italy. This new environment to design in allowed for interesting approaches, different than if it were in the UK. My proposal was for a Gaming Education Centre, aimed for 18-24 year olds to enjoy gaming while learning about them. The aim was for people to understand the fundamentals of game design, which would utilise that knowledge into an entrepreneurial outcome. Hoping to create future leaders in the Gaming/Tech Industry of Italy. The main reason for this decision was for me to see how my interest could benefit many others in a material sense and mental one. Also, the area lacked a high octane environment so introducing my proposal would create a vibrant neighbourhood in Vigentino.

I’ve also included an image of an interior I had worked on for a housing project based in Hackney Wick, London. Trying to allocate 12 houses onto a small site is more challenging than I first anticipated. Nevertheless, that helped to create a view for myself as to what the client/homeowner would like to experience.

The client experience will always be important to me as they are the ones who will be using these spaces. So designing them needs to be as optimum as they can be, for a prolonged and enjoyable experience. Hence the theme of my Thesis which took inspiration from my Grandparents. Their current living pattern and how that can be improved for a more pleasant way of living.

A lot of my work is based around software such as: Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Twinmotion and several more.

I hope you enjoy looking through my work!
