Echo is a drama short film exploring love, memory and personal growth. The film follows Su He, a Master’s graduate in performing arts, who, whilst rehearsing for her graduation production, finds herself unable to deliver a simple line: ‘You lied to me’. As rehearsals progress, she becomes overwhelmed by memories of the past and gradually realises that her former lover has not truly disappeared, but continues to exist within her life through habits, ways of speaking and everyday behaviours. The film seeks to explore how interpersonal relationships are preserved through habits and behaviours, and further examines how individuals come to understand themselves anew following the end of an intimate relationship.
