Nik Drettas

This collection of wearable sculptural pieces translates encounters with rock into contemporary jewellery. Through fractured surfaces of rock into metal, angular structures,  ceramic pebble-like elements and aluminium constructed forms, the work explores touch, movement, erosion and scale. Rather than simply representing rocks, the pieces consider how geological forms can be felt, carried and encountered through the body in a more abstract way.
