My final major project revolves around a speculative adaptation of the Tintin stories by Herge as a family action/adventure TV series set between 1968 and 1971. A central location in the series would be Tintin and Snowy’s London apartment, which is what I have focused on designing for this project. My final outcome consists of VRay renders of the apartment’s 3d model, a white card model of the apartment, and some props.
The apartment is a run down studio flat within a Victorian building, crammed full of books and research, as well as artefacts and mementos from Tintin’s travels. I imagine that my final images are from the last season of the show, as there are plenty of nods to various Tintin adventures throughout the set. I have recreated some of these as props: a lantern from Chinese New Year from ‘The Blue Lotus’, the model ship Unicorn from ‘Secret of the Unicorn’, the chimu statuette replica from ‘The Broken Ear’, and a box of Kih-Oskh cigars from ‘Cigars of the Pharoah’.
