Hello, I’m Vyran! This is a film that explores my insecurities surrounding my place in the world and how I experience it. It uses the mixed-media technique with clay and digitally hand-drawn animation to delve into how I question existence and my validity as a human. One of the core aspects of this film is the poem ‘The Orange’ by Wendy Cope, as it serves as a reminder to slow down and take life and the way we exist for what it is, not what it isn’t. That’s what the orange near the end represents. With my work, while I want to express all the struggles and hardships, I also want to make sure it ends on a hopeful note. I hope this is able to resonate with other people!
