My work is a testimony to the transformative power of art, journey into the hidden depths of human consciousness. I am trying to unravel the complexity of emotion and memory through screen printing inviting viewer on a quest for self- discovery and introspection.
The work lies at the intersection of personal and universal human experiences. The theme I explore invite viewers to reflect on their own emotional journeys.
My work is a reflection of my relation with nature that stared back from my childhood. The memories of my grandfather and his garden where he had all sorts of plants from all around the world and his relation with them. How he found comfort and peace in them, is now how I’ve found my solace in my house plants.
For this work titled ‘Unclose Me ‘is a series of leaf screen prints where each leaf is representing different emotion, state of mind and even inside of human i.e., organ, where I wanted to mess with people vision/optics creating an optical effect. Show traces of human presence. In one of the prints, it shows the beginning of life and death just like the plant from a seed. Through touch we make art, stake a claim to what we own and those we love and express our faith, beliefs and anger. Touch is how we leave our mark and find our place in the world and is how we connect. It can be both physical and emotional.
Although the prints are mare images of leaf but I hope to find deeper understanding and empathy among the viewers, encouraging them to confront their emotions and find the beauty in the complexity of mind which is capable of great things. My art is both a mirror and a window, it is reflecting the inner self and offering a glance into the shared experience of being human.
