When I started working as a designer, I personally experienced and saw the assembly line of the clothing industry, especially the pollution phenomenon related to the production process of denim. Through research, I found that the production process of denim consumes a lot of water resources, which not only puts great pressure on the sustainability of water resources, but also produces a large number of harmful chemicals. These chemicals not only pose a serious threat to the environment, but also may cause significant harm to human (worker) health. Especially in the rinsing and dyeing process of denim, the chemicals used often seep into the soil, water bodies and human bodies, causing long-term negative impacts on the ecosystem.
In view of this, I realized that it is necessary to explore more environmentally friendly and sustainable production methods. I hope to find a way to reduce water consumption and reduce the use of chemicals. My goal is to maximize the reproduction of denim effects through innovative digital printing methods, thereby reflecting the possibilities of digitally printed fabrics while minimizing the pressure on the environment. I believe that by improving traditional processes, we can not only preserve the unique texture and beauty of fabrics, but also contribute to protecting the ecological environment of the earth.
This exploration not only has practical environmental significance, but also provides an opportunity for us to rethink industrial production methods. I hope that through this project, I can come up with some feasible solutions to push the entire industry in a more sustainable direction. Ultimately, my vision is to create an alternative that is both beautiful and environmentally friendly, allowing consumers to enjoy fashion while also contributing to protecting the environment.

I used cyanotype as the base texture and visual element for the fabric, adding unique depth and layering. Chains and monstrous elements were added to enhance visual contrast.

I used cyanotype as the fabric’s base texture, enhanced with water marbling for vibrant colors. Bubble wrap textures combined with marbling added depth, creating a richer visual impact.

This sample emphasizes industrial roughness, reflecting mass production. The ghostly figures bound by chains symbolize the link between fashion production lines and environmental pollution in modern industry.

In this piece, I used layered textures and color clashes to create a rich visual effect. The cyanotype-like base resembles fragmented memories, evoking a vintage, heavy feeling, contrasted by bold orange geometric shapes.
