Theme

I am a multimedia, experimental artist that explore the idea of making art that defies formal norms within the arts world. I encourage people to interact with my work through any means necessary – e.g touch – something frowned upon in a formal art gallery. I am motivated to make art something that isn’t exclusive and separates people but instead brings people from all walks of life together to appreciate the awe of the human experience.

My work often includes what would be classed as “rubbish”. I used rubbish as a key material in my work, both to be more conscious of my environmental impact but mainly to make it into an art object. The transformation that these objects go through represent how easily perspectives can be manipulated. By decorating these objects with a range of media (spray paint, expanding foam, gold, gems, and sequins to name a few!) and making them “beautiful” and aesthetically pleasing, I encourage people to interact with them and not be intimated by them. Art makes us feel things and I never want to put boundaries on who can experience that.
