Aswathy Krishnakumari Viswanathan

My work is rooted in my experience as a postgraduate student studying Visual Communication, and Invisible Girl was created as part of my creative journey throughout the course. The film explores themes of identity, isolation, emotional vulnerability, and the complexities of the inner self through the lens of psychological drama.

Invisible Girl reflects my growing interest in using visual storytelling to communicate experiences that are often difficult to express through words. Through atmosphere, character, symbolism, and psychological tension, the film explores the relationship between how we perceive ourselves and how we are perceived by others. The narrative focuses on the emotional and psychological struggles of its central character, examining feelings of invisibility, disconnection, and the desire to be seen and understood.

As a piece developed during my postgraduate studies, the film also represents my experimentation with visual language and my development as a visual communicator. It brings together my academic research, personal creative exploration, and interest in psychological storytelling to create a work that invites the audience to look beyond the visible and engage with the character’s internal world.
