This collection “Sailor and The Maiden” A/W2025 is an extension of the pre collection “People in Places” in terms of its duality of materials from sustainably sourced natural materials — cotton mohair, alpaca silk and wool — and construction processes merging both the soft and rigid structures of sculptural knitwear. The idea of bringing traditional techniques together with newly developed shapes will inform the direction of future collections in placing importance towards slow-made craftsmanship and sustainability in mind.
The conceptual dynamism in structural details and mix-matching colours are attributed to the past and present comparison of Portugal: from its history as the first maritime power in sea navigation, with historically derived medieval influences to the current Portuguese folkloric traditions. The sailor’s knot technique — fundamentally related to nautical motifs from research — adds a finishing touch to the subtle proportion of the collection ensemble, featuring “The Viking”, “The Maiden”, “The Armourer” and lastly “The Wanderer”. The female body is established as a natural artistry, hence the connection between the wearer and the handcrafted garment welcomes different interpretations of styling possibilities for a genderless collection without a definite and controlled silhouette.
