Yiming Chen

Hello everyone, my name is Yiming Chen. I am an approachable critical designer and a visual culture practitioner driven by academic research with an affinity for using graphic design to reshape people’s perceptions of established cultural norms.

“Human, Data, Power” is a direct response to the ISTD power briefing, exploring the contested power dynamics between humans and data through different forms of typographic intervention. The project aims to critically and reflectively encourage a re-examination of the complex relationship between humans and data in contemporary society. The collection responds to and simulates the complexity of the human-data relationship in three different forms.
